Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I wanted to let you know that we recently renewed our subscription to SOLpass. This internet resource provides teachers with a vast assortment of instructional materials that will help reinforce SOL concepts in social studies and science for grades 3-6. This subscription also allows you to access the website from home. Please visit SOLpass at: http://www.solpass.org. Click on “Elementary School,” choose a specific grade level, then enter your child’s Blackboard password to use this resource.

Now that we are into the second quarter of the school year, teachers are working hard to provide differentiated instruction for each of their students. Using formative assessments such as DRA testing, eCART, quizzes and unit tests, teachers are able to analyze the learning strengths and needs of each of their students and plan interventions to ensure students’ learning success. We appreciate your continued support at home by making learning a priority for your children. It is important for children to understand that the skills they gain as youngsters will help them lead successful adult lives. As educators, we truly believe that we are lifelong learners and model this philosophy with our students by challenging them each and every day with new learning. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Finally, I would like to wish you and your family a joyous holiday season. Please enjoy this special time with your family and friends.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Cleveland
